Everyone loves a good mystery, and in Clue Into Your World, young readers become part of the investigation!
The mystery begins when some of Great Scott’s magic tricks suddenly disappear. There’s only one clue: they’ve been hidden somewhere in the world! That’s when Inspector Great Scott of the MBI, the Magical Bureau of Investigation, takes the case and recruits the children in the audience to help solve it.
Together, they’ll follow clues, put pieces of information together, and travel on a magical mystery tour around the globe. Along the way, kids discover that the answers they need can often be found in the same place mysteries, adventures, biographies, history, geography, and fascinating facts are waiting to be discovered: the library.
Featuring amazing magic, plenty of audience participation, and lots of laughter, Clue Into Your World combines mystery-solving with reading, geography, history, music, storytelling, and ventriloquism. Children will explore maps, countries, terrain, flags, national boundaries, and other elements of geography while using observation and critical-thinking skills to follow the clues.
They’ll also meet Chauncey, Great Scott’s hilarious sheepdog puppet, whose antics add plenty of laughs to the investigation. And in one particularly memorable encounter, the audience even gets to “meet” Abraham Lincoln in a very unusual and funny way while learning interesting facts about his life and discovering how biographies can help us learn about people from the past.
Throughout the program, children are encouraged to explore different kinds of books, including fiction, nonfiction, biographies, and novels, while discovering how reading and research can help them answer questions, follow clues, and learn more about their world.
More than just a magic show, Clue Into Your World makes the library an important part of the mystery itself. The goal is for children to leave laughing, talking about what they saw, and excited to discover what other mysteries might be waiting for them on the library shelves.
