What has been said about past library programs?
|
"Adults loved it, middle schoolers could not stay blase, elementary schoolers were enthralled, even the 4 year olds could tell their mothers about it afterwards."
"We really appreciate how you integrated the use of libraries and books into the program. So many performers say they have a program that features libraries and the summer theme, when what they really mean is they slipped a few words into a standardized program. You made libraries, books and research the central feature of your presentation. Fantastic!

Great Entertainment for Your Library in 2008
| Last year you performed your "Clue Into Your Library" program here at the Lake Geneva Public Library. We liked your performance so much that we were wondering if you had something planned for this year's Summer Reading Program theme: "Catch the Reading Bug". ...and thank you for the wonderful performance last summer. --Sara Soukup, Lake Geneva Public Library |
Well actually--yes!
BEE YOUR BEST! -- That's Scott's program for the Library Systems of Wisconsin and Illinois in 2008.
Great Scott!, are you looking for an entertainer to perform at your library this year?
Do you want someone that can convey the love of reading and get kids excited about the library? Someone who knows how to entertain children?
Scott Obermann (Great Scott) is an educational entertainer, and he has put together a dynamic program based on the theme for this year -- Catch the Reading Bug. |
"I thought you did a great job, especially the way you incorporated "nuggets" of learning, while keeping them engaged in what you were doing"
--Karen Christianson, Lowell Public Library

The program is 45 minutes of educational entertainment
incorporating Scott's unique blend of magic tricks, humor,
storytelling, book-talking, games, puppetry and just plain fun. All
this is designed to capture the children's imaginations
and make them aware of the adventure and fun of visiting the library and reading
great books.
We can learn a lot from the insect world. And quite a bit of their world and habits can be applied to ours. This program does that as it focuses on READING and CHARACTER development. Children are invited to get involved and learn the value of having great personal character. Along the way they will see magic, play games, talk to a bee, discover interesting facts about "beeing" their best and learn about some wonderful books.
"There were MANY positive comments after the show. Kids told me they had a good time, and parents said they thought it was great. One mom, ... was laughing so hard after the show that she could hardly speak, but she finally was able to say that she and her children had enjoyed the show immensely."

Humor is a great tool for teaching. And that lesson is not lost in this show. Kids will laugh at the silly antics and be amazed by the wonderful magic. Helping with this, Jerry the bee (a fun-loving puppet) will buzz in and make his appearance.
In the end, both children and adults will:
- Learn some things about their library
- Find out interesting facts about bees
- Realize the importance of developing great character AND
- They will be ready to go check out some books!
The kids LOVED the show! Thanks so much! In case you were wondering, that was an AMAZING turnout..." Kelly Jahn -- Neosho Library |
